Dr. Heldman is the newest member of the Whittier College Political Science Department faculty. She specializes in political participation, consumer activism, gender, and race in American politics, and has published articles on the effects of negative political advertising and gender differences in public policy. Dr. Heldman is currently working on a book titled Consumer Activism in American Politics. She has been active in “real world” politics for two decades and is known for involving students in the research and practice of politics.
