Display of Early Life at Whittier College
December is known as Founders Month, in which the Palmer and Franklin
Societies recognize the founding of Whittier College. In December 2009,
the Palmers Society decided to recognize the Early Life of Societies with
an exhibit in the Whittier College Library. All societies were able to
donate a few times items that were dated from 1900-1950s such as pictures,
photo albums, and articles and much more. All these items were displayed
throughout December. There was a reception held the first day of the
display during which alumni from different societies were welcomed to view
the display. The exhibit and reception were featured in the Whittier Daily
News and was well attended. Palmer Alumnae Margy Bonney and Judy Kraft as
well as Palmer President and Exhibit Organizer Tina Rinaldi were
interviewed for the article. This was a great success and it gave each
society an opportunity to share their early life.
