Palmers and over 20 guests gathered at the Rock on Saturday, November 11, 2000 for the our annual membership rush. Palmer actives and alumnae alike, got into the spirit by dressing in personalized poodle skirts and authentic 50's fashions. Once again, we socialized over continental breakfast, had pictures taken by the Rock, next to vintage 1950's cars, and got to know one another a little better. Prior to leaving for our first stop, introductions were made and songs were sung from the Palmer Society Greatest Hits Collection.

Our first stop took us across town to Hollywood Star Lanes, for a little bowling and fun. You wouldn't believe that some us had never taken to the lanes before! After a few sets, the group set off through Melrose District (quite a site, eh?) and hit Beverly Hills' famous Ed Debevic's Restaurant for some authentic period food faire. Entertained by our servers, everyone relaxed and re-energized and even some members hammed it up to music on the jukebox. All agreed that fuzzy dice were an appropriate party favor to commemorate the event. After lunch, we cruised on back to Whittier and the home of the Kahler Family, President Alyssa, Bonnie (Strout) '75, and Bryan. We wound down from a day full of activity over cake, Palmer punch, and scrapbooks. We concluded with a slide show that brought back many fun memories.
