Fall 2007 Franklin-Palmer Water Stag

The Palmer Society celebrated the Franklin Society's renewed social eligibility on campus by joining them in a "Water Stag" on Saturday, October 6th in Penn Park. The Franklins and their prospective members took on the Palmer Society in a water balloon fight. The "fighting" was broken up into two rounds with a lunch break in between— a burger and hot dog BBQ. Each side was in charge of their own amo. The Palmer Society's weapon of choice was a large Super-Soaker filled with ice water— which definitely stir things up a bit (the weapon was stolen by "the enemy" at one point). The Palmers were all relieved when they discovered that most of the water weaponry that the Franklins brought was defective including the water-balloon slingshots— whew!  Still, the Franklins fairly got their hits in. Palmer sisters and guests wisely elected to sport brightly colored shirts for the event. At the end of the event, each side resorted to filling ice chests with water after hundreds of water balloons were used up. At the end of round two, neither side could not agree on who won but did agree that it was fun.
