Whittier Weekend 2011
October 21-23

The Palmer Society celebrated a lot in 2011,
including the 90th anniversary of our founding. In Spring 1921,
a group of women gathered to start a literary society and honored a
pioneer in womens education, Alice Freeman Palmer, by adopting her name.
This a clever endeavor is something Palmer actives and alumnae celebrated
well during the annual Whittier
Weekend, from October 21-23. We hope all our sisters had terrific time
during this special Anniversary event.
Weekend Highlights

an Open House during the early Friday evening hours at the Ellis home in Uptown Whittier.
This was a perfect

great opportunity to enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere of conversation,
refreshments and reconnecting on your way into town or as a start to a
memorable evening.
