My name is Tina Rinaldi. I am a senior, an English and
Art History double major, a proud member of the Palmer Society, co-president
of Sigma Tau Delta (Upsilon Chapter), a soprano in choir and on March 30th,
I acted as President of Whittier College, while President Herzberger
walked in my shoes as a student and as a Palmer.
It was such an incredible experience! I
started off my day hosting a “Walk and Talk” with students, followed by a
meeting with faculty where I addressed the majority of staff about the
concerns of commuter students.
While I spent my day learning about the
college’s reaccredidation process and discussing improvements to being made
to the Health Center, President Herzberger took notes in my classes, sang in
choir and (wearing my Palmer sweatshirt) met with my sisters for a Palmer
Rock Lunch! The day was fulfilling for both me and the President as we were
able to experience and appreciate the day to day tasks of the other. I know
that President Herzberger valued the insight she gained on what it meant to
be a commuter and a society member, while I will certainly never forget my
eventful day as President. |
