HOW TO ACCESS MONSTERTRAK FOR JOB SEARCH
Eligibility To Use The Listings
The Career Services Office at Whittier College has
partnered with MONSTERTRAK Corporation to bring you
student employment and off campus listings online.
To access the listings you must be an entering,
current student or alumni of Whittier College. |

How To Access the Listings
1. Click on internet browser to get to the
Internet/www
2. Start by typing Monstertrak.com. Click on post a
resume/registration.
3. You will then need to highlight Whittier College
and type in our password (jobhunt).
4. The profile for registration is in five segments.
Complete one section of the required fields, then
click on “continue” and complete the next section.
The last section is for you to create your own USER
NAME AND PASSWORD. Select something easy for you to
remember.
• For Major field click on your major (You may hit
two at one time by holding down the control button
and then clicking on the major or majors you would
like highlighted).
• For College field (it is the College of Letters
and Sciences) only one choice
• For email, please use the email address that you
most commonly use in other words if you have an AOL
account and you access that account, list that one.
The formula for Whittier College is the first seven
letters of you last name your first letter of your
first name. If you have a name like Smith use your
first letter of your first name and your middle
initial. We will use email to notify you of
information that you are interested in regarding
career services such as hot jobs, interesting
workshops or news you can use.
5. The next screen is for you to verify if your
information is correct. Your profile will display.
Review it carefully
and make any needed changes. To make changes, click
on the BLUE title the section you need to correct.
Continue Steps Below for Accessing Job Listings
1. When you complete the update of your user
profile, the system will allow you to screen for
JOBS and
INTERNSHIPS.
2. Once you have connected, there are many search
options available, but to give yourself the best
search
follow these prompts to access work-study positions.
3. Select the job function you are interested in or
select ALL JOB FUNCTIONS
4. Select ALL TYPES or Part Time for
the types of jobs.
5. Select CALIFORNIA for location
6. Select ALL INDUSTRIES
7. You may narrow your search by entering
KEYWORDS and then selecting all of the words or
leave
keywords blank.
8. You can search for a student employment job by
job function or keyword. MAKE SURE AT THE
BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN YOU HIT ON CAMPUS AND OFF
CAMPUS WORK STUDY POSITIONS.
Some examples or scenarios:
You would like to find a position in research, use
research in a keyword search.
You would like to do something in the office, use
clerical in a keyword search.
You would like to do a job with computers or web
design, use either of those words as a keyword.
Some tips to narrow your search:
• For student employment, use job function field to
narrow your search
• Use departments as a keyword
• Use the keyword search to locate any specialized
positions
Applying For the Jobs
First review the job description and qualifications
carefully to see if you meet the minimum
requirements.
Follow up is up to you! Write down a minimum of
three positions and directly contact the
supervisors.
There will be a Student Employment Fair on
Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at 11:30am-1: 30pm in
the Shannon Center where you can meet some of the
supervisors directly. You may access the job
listings from your residence hall, apartment or from
home provided you have internet access. A Career
Services, Peer Advisor or Human Resources staff
member can help you if you need more help. We are
here to help, so do not hesitate to ask…There is no
such thing as a dumb question. |
