The Department of Modern Languages at Whittier College

was proud to present on October 21, 1997

La Dernière Bande

(Krapp's Last Tape)

a play in French by Samuel Beckett

performed by the Paris-based

Compagnie Claude Beauclair

In addition to enjoying Claude Beauclair's wonderful performance, the audience had the opportunity to discover a small exhibit entitled "Beckett Fragments" consisting of engraved portraits and drawings of Samuel Beckett, by NewYork artist Harvey Breverman, and organized by Professor Endi Poskovic.

On November 7, 2000 we plan to welcome again the Compagnie Claude Beauclair presenting Ionesco's La Leçon. If you have any question or would like to become an official sponsor of this event, please contact Professor Marie-Magdeleine Chirol (phone: 562/464-4523).

We wish to thank all the sponsors at Whittier College who have made this play and exhibit possible:
the Dean of Faculty, the Office of Student Activities, the French Club, SOMA, and the Department of Modern Languages.

Special thanks to Endi Poskovic, Harvey Breverman, Brian Reed, Rafael Chabran, Lori Crawford-Dixon, Nadine Wong Shi Kam, Yegodenesh Shimelis, and Heidi Mankoff.
