ECHANGES EPISTOLAIRES

FOR THE BICENTENNIAL OF THE BIRTH OF GEORGE SAND

George Sand (1804-1876) and Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880) met for the first time at the Théâtre de l'Odéon in Paris in 1857; she was 53, he was 36. Flaubert had just published Madame Bovary. Sand was already a well known writer. This show revives the encounters and the letters between these two writers.
