Class Meetings:

Each class meeting will be important as we will either be discussing things as a class or critiquing each others work.  In order to get the most out of the course and be an effective member of the community, you must be in class.  Missed classes will result in a significant reduction in your participation grade.

Late Assignments:

Homework assignments will be due at the beginning of class.  Any late assignments will receive a 20%/24 hour period late penalty.  Assignments will not be accepted after 5 days.

Cheating and Plagiarism

It is critically important to use the work of others responsibly.  If you unsure about how to cite other scientist’s work or the distinction between paraphrasing and quoting, please seek clarification from the instructor.  Failure to cite or paraphrasing too closely are both examples of plagiarism.  The first minor incidence of plagiarism will result in a zero for that assignment.  The second minor or first major incident will result in an F for the course.
