Textile Designer: Creates the designs and repeats for commercially produced fabrics used in many industries, from fashion to upholstery. Textile designers can be surface designers, knitters, weavers or embroiderers.

CAD Textile Designer: A textile designer who is proficient in studio painting but works specifically on the computer to create designs and repeats. With the advances in design software, CAD designers have unlimited creative opportunities.

Textile Stylist: Translates the designer's ideas into fabrics for production. Stylists are knowledgeable in both the design and manufacturing processes. Involves research and travel to national and international markets.

Textile Colorist: Chooses the numerous color combinations that will be used in creating each textile design. Colorists frequently travel to fashion markets and belong to color forecasting organizations to stay on top of current and future color trends.

Account Executive: Sells to and manages accounts for a textile manufacturer. A good position for someone who enjoys working in both the textile and fashion or home furnishings markets. Responsible for the business side of textiles.
