The Career
Resource Library, located on the first floor of the Philadelphia House, has a
variety of resources to assist students in their career, job search and graduate
school decision making processes.
-
Career/Occupation
Information. The library has more than 200 books and binders
containing information about numerous occupations for students to utilize in
researching and exploring their career options. Many of these
resources are available for check-out. Some of our newer book titles
include:
-
Internship/CRWE
Information and Directories. These resources include
descriptions of over 2000 internship or career-related work experience
options and their contact information
-
Job
Search Resources. There are binders listing current part-time,
full-time, summer and work study position openings. There are also
numerous how-to books on resumes, cover letters, networking, interviewing,
job searching, and salary negotiation. The library also maintains
various geographic and industry employer directories and industry profile
folders. Numerous Job Search printed guides and Job Choices are
available for students to pick up.
-
Employer
Information. There is limited employer information available
in binders and information files. The employer information tends to
focus on the organizations that participate in the On-Campus Recruitment
program. Students are encouraged to obtain current employer
information by directly contacting the employer, researching the
organization through resources at a large university/public library, or
consulting the organization's world wide web page.
-
Graduate
School Information. The library has Peterson's and other
graduate school directories, some college catalogs and program bulletins,
some resource books on financial aid and entrance requirements, and
admissions test bulletins.
