TIMELINE AND
ILLUSTRATIONS
In February 2006, the
Whittier College Board of Trustees approved the
renovation of the current Campus Center building. Our
architect completed the schematic design process and we
moved into the design development process. After
reviewing the second set of design development drawings,
we went through the cost estimating phase. A preliminary
design development package was submitted to The City of
Whittier for approval to proceed with the project. The
college met with the City’s Design Review Board on
August 24th and it was wonderfully successful and they
approved our project. The next step will be the session
with the Planning Commission on September 18th.
Once we get the permit and start construction, we have a
12 month construction period. We expect to have a grand
opening in the fall of 2007.
