Broadoaks Professional Development Institute
Building on a Tradition of Excellence in Early Childhood Education since 1906

The Broadoaks Professional Development Institute (PDI) is a one- to five-day program designed to help teaching professionals implement a developmentally based, active learning approach in their own classrooms and home-based settings.  The program includes workshops on selected topics, as well as opportunities to work with children in the company of Broadoaks demonstration teachers.  Educators from many parts of the United States and Europe have attended Broadoaks Professional Development Institutes.

Broadoaks PDI Includes:

1. Up to five full days of seminars and actual classroom experience on specific topics determined in advance by PDI coordinators and representatives of the schools/agencies contracting for services.
2. Five-day institute includes one additional follow-up day for consultation or training at your site or at Broadoaks.  Four-day institute qualifies for an additional half-day follow-up at no additional charge.
3. Instructional materials to take back to your classroom
   • Sample lesson plans and lots of ideas
   • Formal and informal opportunities to network with Broadoaks teachers
   • Printed material on developmentally based approaches
4. Continental breakfast, afternoon refreshments and lunch daily 
5. For participants from outside Southern California, accommodations are available at a local hotel (walking distance to campus) for a reduced rate.

Program Costs:

Five-Day PDI:  For groups of fewer than 10, $1,090 per person for the five-day institute with one follow-up consultation or training day at no additional charge. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount. 

One-Day to Four-Day Institutes:  $220 per person per day for one-day to four-day institutes.   Four-day institutes qualify for an additional half-day follow-up for consultation or training at no extra charge. Groups of 20 or more may receive a 10% discount.

Optional Professional Development/Continuing Education Credit may be available at additional charge. 

Hotel Accommodations and Dinner available for an additional charge.  Follow-up day can be at your site or at Broadoaks if you work in the LA area.  If you work outside the LA area and qualify for a follow-up day, it will be available at Broadoaks.
