 |
An Asian art historian Sarah Handler has
taught at UCLA, the University of
Illinois, and the University of
Michigan. Known for her expertise in
Chinese furniture, architecture and
related arts, she was curator of the
Museum of Classical Chinese Furniture in
Northern California from 1990-1995.
Widely published in scholarly journals,
exhibition catalogues, and art and
antique magazines, including
Orientations, Asian Art, and the
Journal of the Classical Chinese
Furniture Society, Sarah is the
author, among other books, of Austere
Luminosity of Chinese Classical
Furniture with University of
California Press and Ming Furniture
in the Light of Chinese Architecture
with Ten Speed Press. Born in New York,
she was educated at Michigan, Harvard,
Kansas, London School of Oriental and
African Studies, Princeton and Leiden.
She lives in Oakland, California.
