2007 Men's and Women's
Track & Field
In head coach Dave Hogan's first season,
the team is coming off a down year, but
things are looking up for 2007 as they expect to make a run in the Southern
California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
Returning stars are Chris Banda '07 (all conference
in pole vault) competing in jumps, Nick Salomone '07
and Nick Daum '08 specializing in distance races,
Matt Fink '08 in the throws, and Eric Shane
'07 in multi events. Chris Gartrell '08
returns in the sprints and jumps after missing a year due to
injury and he will lead a group of sprinters that include
Matt Calloway '09, Ryan Munez '09, and Matt Gocke '09. Gocke will also leas the team in the
hurdles. Freshman Raphael Rodriguez is coming
off a MVP year on the Cross Country Team this year to give
more depth and talent to the distance crew. |

On the women's
side, the team is growing in numbers and looks to move up in
the SCIAC standings. Shuree Gangloff '09 will
lead the throwers as she had the top team mark in all
throwing events last year. She is the school record
holder and conference champion and national champion
participant in discus and all conference in shot put last
year. Dana Allen '07 (all conference in the
100hurdles last year) will sprint and jump as well.
Allen will lead a whole new group of sprinters coming in
this year. Julia Tyack '08 (all conference
3000 SP her freshman year) returns to anchor the distance
group. Molly Loesche '07 (all conference in
the pole vault her freshman year) returns after missing her
year due to injury. Freshman newcomer Darlene
Partida (MVP of the women's cross country team this
year) will join the distance program, while Laura Guzman
'07, Adrianna Durflinger, and several others provide
depth. Freshman Erin Patterson comes onboard as
a solid addition in the mid-distance. Nicole Warner
'08 will support Gangloff in the throws and her sister
Stephanie Warner '09 will compete in the jumps and
javelin. |
