Whittier College to Offer
Two Basketball Camps Again this Summer
The 25th annual basketball camp with head coach, Rock Carter, will offer
two sessions of the camp, each limited in number. Register
early! A fine staff comprised of high school coaches and
college players will provide excellent instruction to prepare you for
your upcoming season. Each basketball player will receive a
t-shirt and camp basketball at the end of the week.

Jeff McLean '09 and Tim Fanning '07 were selected as
members of the 2006-07 All-SCIAC Second Team as voted by conference head
coaches last week.

Men's Basketball Ends Season With Tough Loss to Oxy
Taylor '07 Finishes with Double-Double on Senior Night
Anthony Taylor '07 finished with ten points and twelve
rebounds, but Whittier College lost 63-61 in double overtime to SCIAC
rival, nationally ranked #19 Occidental College in front of nearly 1100
fans on "PAC the GAC" night at Graham Athletics Center on February 22.
The Poets finish their season 9-16 overall and 3-11 in conference play.

Men's Basketball Suffers Overtime Loss to Redlands
Fanning '07 Hits Eight Three's in Loss
Tim Fanning '07 scored a team-high 34 points including eight
three-pointers, but Whittier College lost 136-129 in overtime to the
University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif. on February 19. The
Poets are now 9-15 overall and 3-10 in conference play.

Raphael Farlough '08 scored 18 points in 22 minutes off the
bench to lead Whittier College to a 71-38 victory over the California
Institute of Technology in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference play in Pasadena, Calif. on February 10. The Poets are
now 9-12 overall and 3-7 in the SCIAC.

record back to .500 (6-6).

Gibson '08 Scores 38 in Two Games
Marcus Gibson '09 scored 38 points in two games as tournament
co-host Whittier College went 1-1 in the Beaver/Poet Thanksgiving
Classic on November 25-26. The Poets' first game was an 81-72 loss
to Whitworth College (WA) on Nov. 25, but the Poets
returned to Whittier the next day to defeat La Sierra University 78-62.
