Men's Basketball Falls to Chapman at Redlands Tourney
Poets Face Cal St. - East Bay in Third Place Game

Donovan White '10 scored a team-high 14 points, but Whittier College lost 94-62 to Chapman University in the semifinals of the 59th Annual Lee Fulmer Men's Basketball Tournament hosted by the University of Redlands on December 1. 

The Poets (3-2) were out rebounded 48-20 by the Panthers (4-1), who also had a 18-5 advantage in second chance points.  Chapman shot nearly 60 percent from the field, 64 percent from behind the three-point line.  The Poets shot 41 percent from the field and struggled behind the arc, making just one of nine.

White also led the team with four steals.  Vernon Covington '08 and Jeff McLean '09 added eleven points apiece.  Raphael Farlough '08 finished with eight points.  Chapman's Josh Flynn-Brown finished with six three-pointers and a game-high 29 points.

The Poets go on to the third place game and meet Cal St. - East Bay, who lost 123-115 to Redlandsin the other semifinal, on December 2 at 6pm.
