Men's Lacrosse Drops a Pair in Ohio

Lackey '09 Tallies Eight Points in Two Games

Anthony Lackey '09 had four goals and four assists, but Whittier College lost two games on their spring break trip in Ohio on April 1 and 3.  The Poets (3-7) lost their first game of the trip 13-6 at the College of Wooster on April 1, and then lost 13-11 to Ohio Wesleyan University on April 3.

Against Wooster (5-1), Lackey led the Poets with three points; one goal and two assists.  Michael Prickett '07 and Dave Gerbarg '07 each scored a pair of goals.  Matt Mulry '09 added a goal and Christian Wright '10 had an assist.  Ben Brown '09 made seven saves in 54 minutes of action.

Lackey led the Poets with three goals and two assists in the loss to Ohio Wesleyan (7-2).  He is ranked fifth in Division III with 53 points this season.  Gerbarg finished with two goals and three assists in the game.  He is currently eleventh in the nation with 47 points.  Lackey and Gerbarg are tied for sixth with 23 assists apiece.  Wright added two goals and an assist.  Prickett and Chuck Wagner '08 tallied two goals apiece.  Brown played the entire game in goal and made 12 saves.

The Poets finish regular season play 3-7 in NCAA games.  They also picked up wins against Chico St. and Chapman University club teams.
