Women's Basketball Wins Fourth Straight
Poets Hang on to Beat College
of Wooster
Michelle Mascoto '07 finished with a team-high eleven points
to lead Whittier College to a 57-56 victory over the College of Wooster
at Graham Athletics Center on December 21. The Poets have
now won their last four games to improve their record to 5-3.
Mascoto also led the team with six steals and five assists and pulled
down five rebounds. Michelle Araw '07 added nine points,
hitting 3-of-4 three-point attempts. Megan Wingo '07
finished with eight points and five rebounds.
Both teams shot extremely well in the first half. Wooster shot 55
percent from the field and Whittier shot just over 52 percent as the
Poets took a 30-27 halftime lead. Both teams shot under 40 percent
in the second half. |

The Poets return home for the Purple and Gold Poet Classic on January 2
and 3. Whittier takes on Life Pacific College in the first round. |
