New Poets Logo Unveiled at All-Sports Banquet
The Whittier College Athletics Department unveiled its new logo at
the 2006-07 Purple and Gold All-Sports Awards Banquet in the Graham
Athletics Center on May 15. The banquet is held each year to honor
the achievements of Whittier College
student-athletes and their teams.
The event recognized the top 30 scholar-athletes, the Conference,
Regional and National award winners and the four-year letter winners in
the program. Awards were also announced for the Male and Female
Freshman Athletes of the Year, Individual Sport Athletes of the Year,
Team Sport Athletes of the Year and the President's Scholar-Athlete
Awards. There were also two special recognition awards presented
to Darline McCracken and Mitch Carty (See Photos Below). |

Freshman Athletes of the Year:
Mary Pacheco, Softball and Justin DeLong, Men's Tennis |

Individual Sport Athletes of the Year:
Manny Sanchez, Swimming and Dana Allen, Track & Field |

Team Sport Athletes of the Year:
Jake Zerbe, Men's Water Polo and Michelle Mascoto, Women's Basketball |

President's Scholar Athlete Award Winners:
Cheryl Bucholtz, Women's Water Polo and Quinn Keefer, Football/Baseball
