Whittier College Names New Men's Soccer Coach

Paul Gordon Walmsley, former head coach at California State University Maritime Academy, has been named the new head coach of the men's soccer program at Whittier College.  He was a member of the University of Illinois soccer team that won a national championship in 1988.

McFarlin '07 Placed on All-SCIAC 2nd Team

Joe McFarlin '07
was named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 2nd Team on November 6.  McFarlin made the transition from defense to forward mid-season and sparked the Poet offense with four goals in the second half of the season.  Click here for the entire 2006 All-SCIAC selections.

Poets Finish 7th in SCIAC

Kody Seminara '08 scored a second half goal, but Whittier College lost 3-2 to Occidental College in their last game this season on November 1.  The Poets finish their season 3-16 overall and 1-13 in the SCIAC.  Full Story

Dan Roe '08 made six saves in goal, but Whittier College lost 1-0 at home to Colorado College in a non-conference game on October 29.  The Poets are now 3-15 while Colorado improves its record to 13-4-2.  Full Story

Poets Out Shot 23-3 by Sagehens

Whittier College lost 6-1 on the road against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on October 28.  The Poets are now 3-15 overall and 1-12 in the conference while the Sagehens improve to 11-6 overall and 9-3 in the SCIAC.  Full Story

Whittier College lost 4-0 to Southern California intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival, nationally ranked no. 7 University of Redlands, on October 21.  The Poets are now 2-12 overall and 0-11 in the SCIAC, while Redlands remains in first place in the conference at 15-1 overall and 10-1 in conference play.  Full Story

Joe McFarlin '07 scored in the 60th minute to tie the game at two, but Whittier College gave up a late goal to the University of La Verne and lost 3-2 on October 11.  The Poets are now 2-9 overall and 0-8 in SCIAC play while La Verne improved their record to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the SCIAC.  Full Story
