  INTERNSHIPS

The Political Science department at Whittier College strongly encourages students to pursue internship opportunities.  Internships can provide invaluable "real world" experience, and foster networking that is useful when seeking employment.  Whittier College has no control or guarantees regarding these internships.  Students are welcome to apply on their own with assistance from the department.  Typically, students need to be at least a junior with very good grades and excellent letters of recommendation to be considered by internship organizations.

Students can earn academic credit for internships if they coordinate their experience with the department.  Earning credit may entail assigned readings and assignments, as well as an evaluation from the on-site supervisor.  Please note that students must be registered over the summer if they want to earn credit for their summer internship.

If you would like further information or assistance with internships, please contact:

Fellows:
"The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) plays a very critical role in preparing and equipping graduate students and emerging leaders with the tools necessary for success in public service careers. The foundation of this success rests with a solid understanding of the public policy process. Since 1976, the inaugural year of the Graduate Intern Program, CBCF has been providing a training ground to facilitate this understanding"
