“Salvadorans in Las Vegas: A Growing Presence in a New
Ethnic City”
Known for gambling, entertainment, rapid growth, and
extreme summer weather, Las Vegas over the past twenty
years has also become an ethnic city inhabited by peoples
from around the globe. Salvadorans are among the fastest
growing groups in Las Vegas. This paper examines the
phenomenon of ethnic diversification in Las Vegas and then
focuses on Salvadorans within the broader Latino
community. Las Vegas Salvadorans are placed in the contest
of Salvadorans in other U.S. cities. |
