Gary Libman advises the Whittier College student newspaper, the Quaker Campus. He is a former reporter for the Los Angeles Times and former executive sports editor of the then Minneapolis Tribune, where his duties included covering major league baseball. He has also worked as a radio
newscaster and as the host of a one-on-one television interview show. In addition to advising the student newspaper, Dr. Libman is a freelance writer and sells about 45 magazine stories a year. Dr. Libman received his bachelor's degree from Whittier College in political sciences and his masters and doctoral degrees in American studies from the University of Minnesota
