MY WIFE & FAMILY
I am deeply in love with my wife, Alicia, who is truly a diving gift and my shining star. Alicia has been an EO/AA professional for some time and definitely keeps me in check and politically correct, at least part of the time. My own core family still lives in Northern California and we visit them as often as possible. My daughter has joined the ranks of the energy gurus as she is an Account Executive with Southern California Edison where we have a bunch of family and friends who keep us current on responsible energy and environmental practices.
I self-identify as a Chicano (being a son of the UC Berkeley revolution) and am the first born of a father from Juchipilla, Zacatecas and a mother born in Visalia while her family was following the crops in the Central Valley. My parents met while working at the Kaiser shipyards in Richmond, California, building liberty ships during WWII. While I don't build ships I do try to help shape the young minds that I work with here at Whittier.
While I have taught a relatively short time Alicia and I have "adopted" several Whittier College students into our family and we also hope to have you join us for an informal backyard brunch or over to our home to taste Alicia's delicious home made global culinary delights.
