The chemistry club at Whittier College is open to all students who have an interest in chemistry. The mission of the club is to provide a means for chemistry students who are at differing places in their academic careers to interact with one another through various social activities, field trips, service events, and through arranging speakers to share their experiences with the club.

ACTIVITIES

The following list of activities is a partial description of a wide range of events that the club has organized during the last few years:

Pizza party at various faculty member's homes.

Volleyball and barbecue at Penn Park. This has been done in conjunction with the Physics club.

Visit the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) crime lab.

Visit Chevron Oil Company

Visit local elementary, junior high, and senior high schools to do various chemistry demonstrations.

Liquid Nitroden Ice Cream Social

LAPD crime Lab

Help organize the visit of several guest speakers which have included a wide variety of people during the past few years.

HOW TO JOIN


Club Chemistry is open to all students. If you are interested in joining, you can contact any of the officers or come to one of the meetings. Signs for each meeting are posted on the walls of the Science building. You can also become a student affiliate of the American Chemical Society.
