Course description: This course is designed to familiarize you with the
introductory concepts of chemistry through active learning, group work and
lectures. A conceptual approach to the material will be used to enhance the
connections between the topics.
Academic Policies: All assignments for this class are to be one’s own work unless specifically stipulated by the instructor. While group discussion is encouraged, each individual must submit assignments in their own words and calculations. College-mandated penalties will be enforced for infractions. See http://www.whittier.edu/student/resources/studenthandbook/StudentHandbook2007.pdf The class roll sheet may only be signed by the individual for themselves and misuse of this will be treated like the academic dishonesty for the person for whom the signature is forged and the person by whom it is forged. This policy is in practice since credit is “earned” by participation and attendance.
